What are Essential Oils?

Essential Oils are plant concentrates and come from the most powerful part of a plant~ it's Essence, if you will. They're created from steam distilling a plant~ its flowers, bark, roots, and seeds~ and sometimes may only produce a single drop of oil from an entire plant! This makes them highly concentrated and far more potent than dried herbs. Essential oils also act as the lifeblood of a plant by fighting off infection, protecting from bugs, and regulating environmental conditions. They therefore share several common properties to our own blood. It's almost as if nature intended them to be the perfect medicine for the human body! And because of this, our bodies are able to assimilate them quite easily.

These powerful benefits of essential oils were known as far back as 4500BC. There are many references to their uses in the ancient texts during Biblical and Egytptian times. In fact, back then, they were more highly valued than gold!

Today, I invite you to return to this ancient wisdom of Mother Nature as well.
